This piece is a pretty, elegant and feminine evening bag made of silk and that is entirely hand beaded. The beads are tiny little glass pieces in three different colors: champagne, white and a reflective bronze. The design is a delicate scallop, and the handle is also entirely hand beaded - wowzers that's rare! The weight is reflective of the serious hand beading involved.
It has a simple clasp, and the top interior features a gold tone, hand-etched leaf design. The interior is 100% gold silk, and has a small interior pocket for your cards etc.
Likely mid to late 1930's, so 90-ish years old!
Condition: Great, aside from the loose side which can be easily repaired. I'm selling this with a repair kit including a few hand stitching needles and matching thread. I don't think the integrity of the bag is compromised, but if it's not mended, the beads will eventually fall off of that side.
Makers Mark: Stamped on the interior pocket, "HANDMADE IN FRANCE".
