This black and white pair of geometric vessels is quintessential 1950's - 1960's Italian design. In the style of Angelo Mangiarotti, Gabbianelli, Angelo Spagnolo for Sicart and the like, this striking set is timeless. Featuring a high-gloss glaze on both, the tall black and the short white have different, complementary shapes, fitting together almost like puzzle pieces, but not precisely. Intriguing for the eye and complementary to most modern and vintage interior styles. This particular style is emblematic of the height of midcentury Italian ceramics.
Condition: Great. No chips or scratches. White shows some signs of crazing if you look close in direct light only, see photo.
Makers Mark: Bottom of each features markings from the artisan. Black - "1013/G ITALY S". White: "1012/P ITALY". I did an insane amount of research to try and identify the specific designer, but can only identify the style and time period in which the pair was made. Priced as such.
*Measurements*
Black Height - 7"
Black Width - 5.6" at widest
Black Weight - 1lb 15oz
White Height - 2.75"
White Width - 5" widest point
White Weight - 13.3oz
more measurements available upon request.
Everything from My Home on Mars has been professionally cleaned and restored, and ships with a care sheet specific to the material and time period of each piece. Most things require no special maintenance, but a simple list of "do's and don'ts" ensures your item maintains its condition for years to come.
In addition to being a vintage dealer, I am a USPAP-compliant personal property appraiser. Part of that job, separate from this one, is determining the value and authenticity of every piece I examine. I'm proud to bring that high standard of ethics, expertise, and research skills to My Home on Mars, allowing peace of mind for all my customers.
Don't forget - price includes free shipping.
