Free shipping! Great industrial storage bin with wonderful patina, from the UK. In its heyday, it was a storage box for cannon ammunition, likely. Now, use it to store anything! It's also heavy duty enough to be a bench, stool, or footstool. Personally, I would use this to store tools, shoes, or crates. Great for small spaces needing a bit of extra storage. The photo features two of the small HAY folding crates sitting comfortably inside.
This has a khaki green color, and three super strong safety stickers (in tact) on the top and two sides, respectively.
Two clasps latch on one side, easy to open, and there are hinges on the opposite side. Two large square-shape handles are securely attached to either side.
Makers Mark:
Stencil on the side in red, reading "PRODUCT OF UNITED KINGDOM". Bottom has stamped serial number and also a stencil painted serial number.
Condition:
Good to fair. Gorgeous patina! The metal is not rusted, which is the important thing to note. There are heavy scratches and paint chipping throughout. I did not restore this piece, I left it as-is. The lid can be a tad bit wonky to put back on, but that's quite standard for old ammo boxes. Judging by the condition, weight, and other factors, I date this to WWII.
